Your employees’ safety in relation to occupational risk

Industrial Hygiene

HIGINEINDUSTRIALIndustrial Hygiene is the set of techniques that studies the physical, chemical or biological work environment to prevent the development of occupational diseases.

Countless studies have managed to demonstrate the cause and effect relationship between certain jobs and the development of certain diseases, and for most of these diseases, obvious symptoms do not emerge for a very long time, sometimes even for years. That is why it is essential to tackle the problem from a prevention-based approach, which is the only way to ensure that workers are in the best possible state of health at the end of their working lives.

Evidently, not all jobs are hazardous from the hygiene perspective, and it will depend on whether there are any pollutants at the workplace. The following factors must be considered in this event:
The concentration of the pollutant in the work environment, because if that concentration is kept below certain values, the hazard will be controlled.
The exposure time: the longer, the riskier. The personal characteristics of each individual: pollutants do not effect everyone the same way, because some people might be hypersensitive to certain substances. In turn, the presence of several pollutants together increases the risk.

Eurocontrol has the equipment and human resources required to determine physical, chemical and biological agents.

At Eurocontrol we conduct:

  • -Analysis of temperature and humidity conditions and heat stress.
  • -Determination of exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation.
  • -Indoor air quality studies.
  • -Lighting studies and measurements.
  • -Noise and vibration studies and measurements.
  • -Company hygiene management.
  • -Assessment of exposure to chemical agents (measurements of organic vapours, total dust, silicon dioxide etc.).
  • -Assessment of exposure to biological agents
